This review is devoted to the application of Sr2FeMoO6−δ (SFM) and Sr2F1.5Mo0.5O6−δ (SF1.5M) in La1−xSrxGa1−yMgyO3−δ (LSGM)-based SOFCs. We consider most relevant physical properties (crystal structure, thermodynamic stability, iron molybdenum valence states, oxygen vacancy formation non-stoichiometry, electrical conductivity), A- B-site ion substitution, performance SF1+xM SOFCs (polarization resistance, operation with hydrogen, hydrocarbons methanol). Their can be tailored a particular by substitution different metal cations into their lattices. materials are excellent catalysts hydrocarbon oxidation prevent carbon deposition due ability exchange lattice gaseous phase. Moreover, they sulfur tolerant. opens way direct hydrocarbon-fueled SOFCs, eliminating need for external fuel reforming removal components. Such greatly simplified operate much higher overall efficiency, thus contributing solution lack energy problem our modern world.
